Pano Tuner listens through your microphone, finds the pitch, and shows exactly how far sharp or flat you are — to the cent, on a vintage analog dial. It runs right here in your browser: no download, no account, nothing to install. Scroll up, tap Start Tuning, and play a note.
How to use it
- Tap Start Tuning and allow microphone access when your browser asks. The audio is analyzed on your device and never leaves it.
- Play one note and let it ring. The dial swings to the nearest note and the green band shows your deviation in cents.
- Tune toward the center: if the needle sits left of the note, you are sharp — tune down; right means flat — tune up.
- You are in tune when the diamond splits and the band holds green — within a few cents of dead center.

- Nine temperaments, plus your own. Beyond standard equal temperament it offers Pythagorean, Just, quarter-, third- and sixth-comma meantone, Kirnberger III, Vallotti and Werckmeister III — for early music, harpsichords and anyone exploring historical tuning. You can also save a custom temperament.

Frequently asked questions
Is an online tuner as accurate as a tuner app?
Yes. This tuner runs the same kind of pitch-detection math an installed app uses, on the same microphone, and reads out deviation in cents — a cent is 1/100 of a semitone, far finer than any ear needs for everyday tuning. Accuracy depends on your microphone picking up a clean note, not on whether the code arrived through an app store.
Do I need to download or sign up for anything?
No. The tuner is this page — it works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on phones, tablets and computers. There is no app to install, no account, and no payment. Bookmark it and it is always one tap away.
Why does it ask for microphone access, and where does my audio go?
The microphone is how the tuner hears your instrument. All analysis happens on your device, in your browser — the audio is never uploaded, recorded or stored, and nothing you play leaves your machine. Deny or revoke access any time, and once the tuner is running you can switch the microphone off right on the dial: the button under the frequency readout releases it on the spot. The reference-tone mode still works without it.
Can I use it without a microphone?
Yes. Choose “Play reference tones” under the dial (or tap the headphone icon) and the tuner becomes a pitch pipe: pick any note from C0 to B8 and tune to it by ear, the way players matched a tuning fork for centuries.
Can I change the concert pitch from A = 440 Hz?
Yes. Open the settings (gear icon) to shift concert A — orchestras that sit at 442 or 443 Hz, baroque players at 415 Hz, and anyone matching a fixed-pitch instrument like a piano can tune to the reference they actually need.
